I have installing on one of our XP machine an Application which use on the
network as Applications Services. I have got a problem to run some progrms. I
thought it has something to do with the User Profile, so I create a new user
with administrator right. After loged on the machine with the new name, I
have got the following message " Genenic Host Process for Win32 Services
encountered a problem and neede to close." Is there any method to solve this?

1. There was a problem with the downloaded file and it may be
corrupted...Download it again,
2. You are attempting to install a 64 bit patch on a 32 bit
computer...download the 32 bit version of the patch for a 32 bit computer.
Also you will sometimes get this error if you are attempting to open a
document when the necessary application is not installed. You need to have
the appropriate application installed to open the document.

windows functions failing)
This can apparently have many causes (bug in MS security update, old printer
drivers, Sasser etc).
The following cause and fix appears not to be documented.
Eventually tracked down to "Automatic Updates" service by
1. booting in Safe Mode [OK]
2. using MSConfig to boot without any startup services [OK]
One by one, readded services until problem recurred
Little or no documentation regarding this on MS site or elsewhere.
Replacing (?corrupt) wauaueng.dll in system32 with seemingly identical file
from another machine solved problem.

After downloading a critical update for IE 6 this weekend I now find that
when I am online there appears to be constant activity showing on the
network icon in the taskbar and when checking the status there is in
